I started watching DEVs. It’s the new Alex Garland series on FX or Hulu. He did Ex-Machina and Annihilation both outstanding movies. This series is another winner. Sonoya Mizuno stars as Lily. She reminded me of Fin.

This image originated as a failure: the strobe didn’t flash. If I were like my contemporaries, I would’ve deleted the file. Being an old schoola from the ’70s, I keep every file like I kept every negative. A little brightness here, a little contrast there, a pinch of duo tone, and I came up with this. The JPG export created some artifacts on her legs but I kinda like it.

I was in the mood to make a crisp monochrome. This would’ve taken hours and a lot of test prints to make in a wet darkroom. God bless digital everything.
